JMC 2033 overview

JMC 2033 is an overview of and preparation for many media styles. Before this class you should’ve taken Intro to Mass Communications, this class is a more in-depth look on the diversity of writing for the media. This course will develop your writing in all areas of communication and journalism. It will also equip you to become more evident in your style of writing.

The overall goal of this course is to improve your writing. Communication is an important key to your success, no matter what field of study you are interested in. JMC 2033 will provide you with intricate techniques to indemnify your audience’s comprehension. This course is lecture driven. Your lecture will include about 170 students from different mass communication backgrounds. The professor will present slides, and will expect you to take thorough notes. The lecture is a very important component of this class. Your notes and listening capabilities will determine your improvement of the way you communicate, write, and determine what field of mass communication suits you.

Along with the lecture, you will be required to take a lab. The lab is your chance to get a more comprehensive view on the lecture. Your lab teacher is your coach; this person stands in your corner and roots for you, but also gives you the one-on-one attention that the lecture lacks. When the semester ends, you should have a thorough knowledge of how to communicate using different media writing styles.
