Using correct language and being respectful to those of different communities can be a challenge. As a writer I would not want to say that someone “suffers” some type of disease or that a person is “confined” to a wheel chair, but what would I say instead?

During the interview it would probably be appropriate to ask the person what they prefer to be referred as in the story. The interviewee will read this story and I want them to feel respected when they read this.

I want to be accurate with my information because if their story is worth telling the information should be accurate.
