Buddy Walk Brief

The Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma’s annual Buddy Walk was held in Oklahoma City on Saturday, September 19th.

Buddy Walk is a premier advocacy event held nationwide for Down syndrome. Approximately 1,800 people attended the event, raising over $100,000. This will help improve the lives of people with Down syndrome in the Oklahoma City community.

Families and friends of people with Down syndrome volunteered at the event. University of Oklahoma students like Lizz Nelson, who has a sister with Down syndrome and attends Buddy Walk every year with her family, dedicated their time to Buddy Walk.

DSACO hosts many other events throughout the year that provide help and support to families and friends of those with Down syndrome.
