The new exhibit “Sooners in the Land of Enchantment” will be opening at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in October.
The exhibit contains approximately 60 pieces of art from New Mexico and Oklahoma. During the twentieth century, Oklahoman artists frequently visited New Mexico for inspiration. Around 11 of the artists, whose work will be displayed in the exhibit, were University of Oklahoma faculty/students during the twentieth century.
Mark White, Eugene B. Adkins Curator, will be giving a lecture at the public opening of the exhibition on October 9 at 6 p.m. There will also be a DJ, free food and entertainment. Admission is free for current OU students with an ID.
